Abstract

The exploration of teacher performance for the improvement of educational quality and student achievement is an importance subject in Indonesia. Therefore, this research aimed to specifically explore the impact of principal adaptive leadership on teacher performance in the Indonesian educational landscape, with collaborative school culture serving as the mediating variable. To achieve the stated aim, data were collected through the administration of questionnaires from 425 public primary school teachers in West Java, Indonesia. Accordingly, the collected data were then analyzed using structural equation modeling with partial least squares (SEM-PLS). The results showed that adaptive leadership had a significant and positive influence on teacher performance. It was also observed that collaborative school culture acted as an effective mediating variable during the process. This research offers both theoretical and practical implications for the broader implementation of adaptive leadership theory in schools. Additionally, recommendations for future research areas are provided.
